Bhoplyache bharit (Pumpkin raita)  

1 cup boiled red pumpkin pieces (Make small square shaped pieces of red pumpkin and boil them),
3 green chilies,
1/2 cup yogurt
coriander leaves,
and sugar.

For tempering:
2 tsp oil / ghee,
1 tsp mustard seeds / cumin seeds,
1/2 tsp asafoetida,

1. Mash pumpkin pieces little bit with a spatula.

2. Beat yogurt and add it to the mashed pieces. Also chop green chilies and add them. Add salt and sugar. Mix well with a spoon.

3. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds. As they start spluttering, add asafoetida. This is a tempering for bharit.
Alternately, heat ghee instead of oil and add cumin seeds instead of mustard seeds.

4. Pour this tempering on the prepared mixture. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.

Tip: This raita can be eaten on fasting days (use ghee for tempering and avoid asafoetida).
